BYD Yuan UP Compact Electric SUV Revealed in Official Images

The upcoming BYD Yuan UP electric car has been officially revealed online. The new small electric SUV is built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and could be called the Atto 2 in the international market.

The revealed office showcases the Yuan UP as a five-seater SUV with a boxy and angular appearance, reminiscent of the recently unveiled mid-sized Song L but with a more squared-off silhouette. Featuring a robust front bumper, a distinctive Yuan emblem, and slender elongated LED headlights, the Yuan UP showcases blackened pillars, a spacious sunroof, seamlessly integrated door handles, plastic trim on the lower body, and stylish five-spoke rims. At the rear, it sports a unified taillight unit and a rear roof spoiler.

Dimensions for the Yuan UP include a length of 4310mm, a width of 1830mm, and a height of 1675mm. It shares the same length as the MG ZS EV but is slightly wider and taller. Additionally, the Yuan UP has a 35mm longer wheelbase at 2620mm.

Utilizing the electric platform seen in the Atto 3 SUV, the Yuan UP will offer two motor options: one with a 70kW output and another with a more powerful 130kW output. The smaller electric motor, featured in the BYD Dolphin in Nepal, comes with a 44.9kWh battery providing a WLTP range of 340km and a top speed limited to 160 km/h.

The Yuan UP boasts optional features such as a panoramic sunroof and a sporty rear spoiler. Wheel options include 16″ or 17″, with tire specifications of 215/65 R16 and 215/60 R17. The kerb weight for these variants is 1430kg and 1540kg, respectively.

The Yuan UP will enter the Chinese market in March this year.
