The upcoming BYD Yuan UP electric car has been officially revealed online. The new small electric SUV is built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 and could be called the Atto 2 in the international market.
The revealed office showcases the Yuan UP as a five-seater SUV with a boxy and angular appearance, reminiscent of the recently unveiled mid-sized Song L but with a more squared-off silhouette. Featuring a robust front bumper, a distinctive Yuan emblem, and slender elongated LED headlights, the Yuan UP showcases blackened pillars, a spacious sunroof, seamlessly integrated door handles, plastic trim on the lower body, and stylish five-spoke rims. At the rear, it sports a unified taillight unit and a rear roof spoiler.
Dimensions for the Yuan UP include a length of 4310mm, a width of 1830mm, and a height of 1675mm. It shares the same length as the MG ZS EV but is slightly wider and taller. Additionally, the Yuan UP has a 35mm longer wheelbase at 2620mm.
Utilizing the electric platform seen in the Atto 3 SUV, the Yuan UP will offer two motor options: one with a 70kW output and another with a more powerful 130kW output. The smaller electric motor, featured in the BYD Dolphin in Nepal, comes with a 44.9kWh battery providing a WLTP range of 340km and a top speed limited to 160 km/h.The Yuan UP boasts optional features such as a panoramic sunroof and a sporty rear spoiler. Wheel options include 16″ or 17″, with tire specifications of 215/65 R16 and 215/60 R17. The kerb weight for these variants is 1430kg and 1540kg, respectively.
The Yuan UP will enter the Chinese market in March this year.
